Cody Turns One!
“Hey Momma!” Cody says.
“Good morning happy guy! How are you?” I respond.
“Good.” Cody replies.
Lately this is every morning I get Cody out of bed. He is happy all the time except when he is extremely hungry or his brother squeezes him too close. I understand Ryder’s difficulty hugging his brother too tightly, I too have the same problem. A huggable guy, we cannot help but soak in his joy. Giggles and flirts, he is truly a Mini Mack we are honored to have.
Cody is walking like a true big guy with things to do. He walked sooner than the other two because no doubt he has to keep up in order to stay in the action. He can open doors, and flush toilets. Climb stairs and drink from straws. He zips from one end of the house to the other, undoing every roll of toilet paper before I can get his sister’s pajamas on, all while easily convincing me it was a grand idea that I should clap along too. Have you seen that smile? I rest my case.
Finally cutting two teeth of his very own at eleven months, Cody is well on his way to adulthood and I don’t like it one bit. His vocabulary is picking up and no doubt will triple before the new year (adding to: “momma” “Dad” “Good” “Hey” “G’ma” “Oma”). Eating nearly anything thrown at him (and literally thrown sometimes, he is a third child after all – “survive” is his middle name), Cody is thrilled to be a part of the Mini Mack club.
Ryder and Rory miss him if he isn’t awake and include him in every adventure. I have no doubts he has a special and important role in all that they do – be it the comedian or charmer. Singing along to the alphabet song or other house favorites, he is truly a joy to us all. My tinkering pal, my squirrely morning friend, my sweet spirited buddy, my Cody-man. Happy Birthday Cody! We love you so much!
