Big rolling laughter. Belly aching giggles. Grocery aisles filled with sunshiny squeals and joyous fun in race-car carts. Echoing farts on wooden stools that leave toddlers bodies shaking in absolute surrender to the silliest of moments. Welcome to the world of Ryder and Rory. Pull up a stool and let the good times roll, we are happy you stopped by to join in the excitement.
Awake, thou wintry earth –
Fling off thy sadness!
Fair vernal flowers, laugh forth
Your ancient gladness!
~Thomas Blackburn, “An Easter Hymn”
I love spring. Trees sprouting new leaves, flowers blooming, birds chirping and kids antsy to meet the new life that is springing up everywhere. I love driving down a windy street that is met at every turn with the sun blinking sunshiny hellos through the newly formed leaves framing its embrace. Spring brings promise of newness and awakening. Awareness that the earth and everything in it is willing to start afresh in sweetness and hope of greatness to come.
